South Oak in Central Alabama

As South Oak grows its reach across Alabama, we remain focused on making high-quality title and closing services accessible to more communities. The addition of offices in Tuscaloosa and Moody represents our ongoing commitment to meeting clients where they are.

Convenience matters to clients, and by expanding our physical presence in Central Alabama, South Oak can offer the personalized, face-to-face service that both real estate professionals and their clients value. This expanded network also enhances South Oak's ability to coordinate closings that span different geographic areas. For transactions where parties may be in different locations, our multiple offices work together seamlessly, eliminating unnecessary travel and streamlining the closing process.

Despite the growth, South Oak maintains its commitment to exceptional service to real estate professionals and their clients. We've built our reputation on making closings enjoyable without compromising accuracy or professionalism. These new locations aren't just about expanding business—they're about investing in growing communities.

South Oak Title and Closing in Tuscaloosa

With 22 years in the title industry, Nikki Plowman brings extensive experience and established relationships to her role at South Oak's Tuscaloosa office. Born and raised in Tuscaloosa with multi-generational family ties to the area, Nikki offers clients something invaluable: authentic local knowledge and connections.

"Tuscaloosa is a larger town with very small-town vibes," Nikki explains. This understanding of the community's unique character helps her navigate what she describes as a market where relationships matter deeply.

Located just a few blocks from Greensboro Avenue near Capitol Park, the office sits in a prime downtown location with easy access to the amphitheater and other downtown amenities. Despite its downtown setting, clients enjoy the convenience of free parking onsite.

The Tuscaloosa office itself is as much a conversation piece as it is a functional space. Housed in a historic property built in 1883, the building has always been located on its current street, though it has been moved over the years—a framed newspaper article inside the office documents this history. Inside, the space balances preservation with practicality. Original architectural details like decorative trim and fireplace mantels remain intact, while updates ensure a comfortable, functional environment. The spacious floor plan includes a large waiting area and foyer, with a second closing room soon to be added.

The Tuscaloosa office delivers the same exceptional service South Oak clients have come to expect, with Nikki's personal touch. "The biggest compliment that I've gotten and continue to receive is clients have felt so comfortable," she notes. "They've said their experience at South Oak has been a quick, light, and easy experience that was far less stressful than they expected." This approach reflects South Oak's commitment to making closings enjoyable rather than tedious—completing most transactions in about 30 minutes while ensuring clients feel at ease throughout the process.

The Tuscaloosa office is uniquely positioned to serve a remarkably resilient real estate market. The University of Alabama creates consistent demand with student housing needs and professionals growing roots in the area. Meanwhile, Lake Tuscaloosa draws buyers seeking both primary and vacation homes. This market diversity has helped insulate the Tuscaloosa market from major economic downturns. Even during the 2008 housing crisis, the area experienced only a slight dip while maintaining steady monthly and quarterly revenue.

Beyond the city itself, the office serves surrounding rural counties, including Hale, Pickens, Lamar, Walker, and others. As a hub for west-central Alabama, Tuscaloosa provides a convenient central location for these communities, with South Oak offering travel closings when needed.

Plowman is focused on building relationships with new real estate professionals entering the market. "New realtors join the workforce in our area every year," she notes. Her approach involves maintaining strong connections with established partners while also reaching out to those just starting their careers. "I want them to experience other closings but then come here and see the difference—that's when I can sell our service here."

Moody Title and Closing Services

South Oak's expansion into St. Clair County began with the opening of the Moody office in November 2024. This new location brings South Oak's signature closing experience to a rapidly developing area east of Birmingham.

Leading the Moody office is Michelle Earle, who brings an impressive 32 years of experience in the title industry. As a Moody resident herself, Michelle's local connections and understanding of the area provide a strong foundation for this new location.

"When I started in this industry, a lot of the people I met were in this area," Michelle explains. Her longstanding relationships in the community have already begun to drive business to the new office. "I know a lot of people on this side of town who would say, 'I miss closing with you, but Rocky Ridge is really far.' Now I tell them, 'Come see me for your closing; I'm right down the street!'"

The Moody office was selected for its convenience and accessibility. Located just five minutes from I-20, the office provides easy access for clients throughout St. Clair County and eastern Jefferson County. "We're very centrally located," Michelle notes. "We sit off the road behind another building in a community of offices. We wanted something that could be just off the highway and easy to hop off and on." This strategic positioning makes the office accessible not only to Moody residents but also to clients from Leeds, Pell City, and Odenville.

"Moody has a small-town vibe, but it's really growing a lot," Michelle explains. "People know you're going to run into someone when you go out, but the town has really invested in giving Moody some larger-town amenities. It's such a great place to live." As a Moody resident, Earle has also observed firsthand how quickly homes sell in the area. "When a home goes on the market, it sells pretty quickly- no matter the size."

The Moody office brings South Oak's commitment to personalized service to an area where choices for closing services have been limited. Michelle emphasizes flexibility and accessibility as key differentiators. "I want my agents to know that we're here, local," she explains. "If we need to sit down and talk about a problem with a title or another issue, I want them to know I'm here. We're convenient and flexible on times for closings."

The Moody office is preparing for a formal introduction to the community. After opening in November and quickly becoming busy, Michelle Earle is planning a ribbon cutting ceremony for spring 2025 in partnership with the Moody Chamber of Commerce.
