Trending Paint Colors for 2014

Have you heard of Seaside Harmony, Plantain Chips, South Peach or Sea Isle? Well if you’re getting your home market ready or just doing some updating you should. These are the names of the “It” colors in paint for 2014.
Trends see colors such as turquoises, mint greens, muted yellows and sandy neutrals making a splash this year. The colors are reminiscent of seaside vacations and nature. One of our favorite new colors is Dulux Paint’s, Sea Isle. Popular for kitchens and family rooms, this color looks great against stainless steel appliances.
If you are looking to paint and put your home on the market this year's "It" colors can help your home feel new and inviting. Consider checking with a professional stager before painting. It is a great idea and often a lot less expensive than you think. This small investment can easily get your house noticed and put you ahead of the competition. We like Laura Hill at LH Creations for staging and interior design. She has a great eye and will come by to consult on paint colors as well as offer other staging tips. You can find her by liking her Facebook Page, LH Creations.
If you are planning on staying in your home for a while consulting Laura or someone else in Birmingham's wonderful design commuity can be a good idea. Often many home owner's aren't brave enough to put color on their walls. They fear choosing the wrong color. Having a professional with a great eye for design and color can help you gain confidence in your color selections and go for it.
